AFD-Leaks
Keyvisuals, Title-Design & animated Chats

In September 2017, the AfD enters the Bundestag for the first time. More than 70 members later join a strictly confidential chat group called "Quasselgruppe." NDR and WDR now have around 40,000 posts from the group, showing what AfD politicians think and how they speak when they think no one is listening. A frequent topic of disagreement is how right-wing the party should be. One member asks, "Do we want to be a national-socialist or a libertarian-conservative party?" A colleague, annoyed, says, "Is it so hard to not talk about the Third Reich?" A peek behind the scenes in the AfD faction reveals extreme overthrow and revenge fantasies like this one: "The rat Merkel at the top! This traitor to the people belongs in prison for life!" The longer the AfD sits in the Bundestag, the greater the frustration becomes: "As far as cringing in embarrassment goes, I have become extremely resilient through the party," says one member. "Voters have no idea what they're in for if they choose AfD," whispers another, and "The AfD is screwed." The sobering conclusion in the chat dialog: "The faction used to be the beacon of the party." Answer: "It still is, only the light is out."

For this extensive investigative project, Studio Fritz Gnad designed and implemented the key visual, the graphical packaging, and a variety of animated chats.

In addition, the graphics for the Strg-F documentary and the investigative podcast "Die Jagd" were also produced.
